-Only HopE-

There's a song that's inside of my soul
Its the one that I've tried to write over and over again
I'm awake in the infinite cold
But you sing to me over and over and over again

Chorus:
So I lay my head back down
And I lift my hands and pray
To be only yours, I pray, to be only yours
I know now you're my only hope

Sing to me the song of the stars
Of your galaxy dancing and laughing and laughing again
When it feels like my dreams are so far
Sing to me of the plans that you have for me over again

Chorus

I give you my destiny
I'm giving you all of me
I want your symphony, singing in all that I am
At the top of my lungs, I'm giving it back

So I lay my head back down
And I lift my hands and pray
To be only yours, I pray, to be only yours
I pray, to be only yours
I know now you're my only hope

Hmmmmm, Hmmmmm, Oooooh

A lovely song by Mandy Moore...
I learned from DaN that its from "A walk to remember"... I shall get the VCD!

Work's been tiring... but at least I'm occupied. I guess I'm the kind who would complain and then get use to it eventually. Strange isn't it? Nevertheless, I'm starting to feel more at home over at the south side now. =)

The GE is finally coming! Not that I'm very excited about it... Still, should I get the chance to vote, it would be my very first!

Have a good wkend!

-mY hEaRt tUgS-

When I saw the similar bag held out to me from Aunt Julie, containing a gift to me from my dearest student, my first thought was:

"Oh, so my student decided to place her gift into the bag I had placed her present in to hand it to me."

As I took a closer look at the bag on my way out of the centre, I realise that the bag was taped up. That was when my heart tugged for the first time as I thought:

"Did me and my student went to the same shop to get our presents for each other?"

I got more excited and so I decided to open the present while walking back home. I had thought it was a photo frame as I could feel the edges but when I pulled out the frame, my heart tugged yet again...

Cos it was a frame with my name on it...

And why did my heart tugged again? Cos I had nearly gotten the very same gift for my student... and if I did, we would have given each other similar presents on the same day... ... ...

Its amazing isn't it? How minds can be so alike? Though I am regretting a little for not getting the very same gift as the shop I went to ran out of frames for 5 letters and I failed to notice boards without letters on them (like what my student did above), the very possibility that we nearly got the same present for each other warmed me up almost immediately. =)

Have a good long wkend pple! And yes... I'm on MC... thus the ability to blog at this hour... hahahaha...

-HistoricaL EveNt? MaYbE-

Its yet another week and I must confess... I've been late for 4 days of the past week! I wondered if the dentist would have given me a longer mc had he known that I was working? If he had thought I was studying, that probably might have make some sense as to why he gave me mc over the weekend right? Bleah... Somehow the medication made me really lethargic but I managed to do work alright.

Thankfully the pain has decreased significantly and though I still can't speak properly, I sure hope that I would get my speech back once the stitches are removed.

Ok, back to my heading for today. So what historical event right? Yesterday, I had my first exciting event since I started work. Why exciting? It started out on Wednesday evening when I got into the lift with one of the partners and as he entered the lift, he went: "Yi (for about 2 secs) mei, do you want to help me arrest a ship?"

As the idea stayed in my head through the whole night, I wondered, why not? It sounded really exciting and though I had not taken Shipping Law, I can alwiz try to learn right? So on thursday, I hopped onto the wagon for the arrest.

To keep the story short, the ship that we arrested wasn't as big as I had thought initially. Mention ship and the picture that pops up in my mind include tankers and cargo ships. But not these two, they are similar to ferry boats and not that big. STILL, its my very first time witnessing a ship arrest!

So off we went, 1 secretary, 1 court clerk, 1 paralegal aka me, 2 pupils, 3 associates and 1 partner. Quite a big group for an arrest of 2 cruise boats (which are empty by the way) but nevertheless, exciting!

Here are the photos taken yesterday!

And there we are, taking group photos after the arrest was accomplished. It was only when I got to the pier then I found out that it was the pier's last day in function! As one of the associates mentioned, we probably made history for being the last persons making a ship arrest and departing from clifford pier! Hahahahaha...

There you have it! This one exciting little event taken out from my working life. Cool isn't it? I sure hope to get a chance to witness an arrest of one of those huge tankers or cargo ships!
