Since then, I made a mental note that I would definitely get the works of the composer of the song when I can afford it.
Unfortunately, the local shops don't carry his works. Hence, I debated getting the CD via Amazon.com.
Now, what has this got to do with the title of this post then?
The first person that came to mind to consult about the reliability of getting stuff from Amazon was one friend whom I seldom speak to. Hence, while I wasn't surprise by the response, I was turned off by it... In response to my query as to whether a particular choir group had bought the CD via internet, he responded:
"Sometimes, you shouldn't approach people only when you need them."
I shan't elaborate further on my response. Basically, I made my point known to him.
I am fortunate to have many friends from different walks of life. Friends whom I seldom meet, whom I've lost touch with, whom I know absolutely nothing about their on-goings at present. But are they still my friends? YES of course. WHY? Cos friends are those who came into my life for a period of time. And by friends, I do not mean mere acquaintances.
Hence, I decided to send a msg to ALL my friends this afternoon (to those whose contact numbers are in my hp). Nothing fancy, no bear/pig/other cute illustrations. Just plain simple words.
103 msgs sent
15 msgs received
What am I trying to show here?
1. It takes two to clap. If you choose to slap me with a "Sometimes you shouldn't approach people when you need them", I hope the above tells you that, not everyone would respond to a greeting msg and sometimes, people NEED a reason before approaching others.
2. If I am going to fault all those who did not responded, I would lose most of my memories cos each of them hold a part to it.
Friends accept them as who we truly are. Friends don't fault each other for not having even responding or question after your well-being.
It takes two to clap...
I would never be able to describe the true meaning of friends cos there's so much to it... But at least, don't let pettiness dampen it...
